Chaminade Comes Out on Top after a Nail-Biter at Trinity

The Red Devils went on the road to Trinity Catholic High School to face off against the Trinity Titans last weekend. Chaminade knew they had to forget the steamroll win against Vianney and focus on the task they had a head of them.

Trinity is a team full of size, but what they have in size they lack in discipline, and this showed with the multiple fumbles off missed snaps. While the Red Devils may not have the size that the Titans have, they are a very talented and discipline team.

Chaminade’s Defense was tasked with stopping 6’4, 220-lbs senior WR Demetrius Cannon, not to mention the prominent sophomore dual-threat Quarterback, Christian Cotton, throwing and running the ball behind his mammoth Offensive Line.

Chaminade’s offense prepared all week for their first real test of the year. Though the scoreboard may not have shown the offense’s production, the stats show otherwise. The Red Devils rushed 42 times for 275 yards, averaging 6.5 yds per rush and completed 7 passes for an additional 47 yards, totaling 322 yards of total offense on the night.

Chaminade went on to defeat Trinity on the Titan’s Senior Night by the score of 9-7. This is a huge win for the Red Devil as they look to secure the #1 seed in their district.

This coming Friday, 10/23, Chaminade will travel to CBC to face off against the Cadets.
